In the heart of the Tuscan geothermal area, where a lightbulb was turned on by using geothermal energy in 1904, for the first time in the world, a new advanced centre of expertise on geothermal energy will be inaugurated in Larderello, on November 14th.
The CEGLab has been equipped by CoSviG (Consortium for the development of geothermal areas), with the support of the Tuscany Region, and it has been conceived with the purpose of contributing to the diffusion of research and innovation for the geothermal energy use, with a focus on heat direct use.
In synergy with university laboratories for applied research in geothermal, the CEGLab can be exploited in different sectors for the study of resources, of geothermal fields, in geology/hydrogeology field, and of related plant engineering.
